I am currently in the market to buy a manual press. Looking at the M&R Chameleon and the M&R Sidewinder. i am going to be using it for business purposes and i would be printing on a lot of black tees.
1. Of the two i mentioned which one would you buy and why?
2. Rotating Printing Stations, is it essential in printing shirts faster? Are there a lot of presses out there that have this function? can i get by without it?
3. Is it wise to print more than 6 colors with a manual press? or are 6 or more colors better of done with a automatic press?
Both M&R's are good.
Get at least 6 colors. 8 if you can afford it
Printing more than 5 or 6 colors manually doing large (300 or more units) orders, especially on black tees with flashing will kill you eventually.
You MUST have a rotating table- at least 4 pallets.
Both come with rotary plattens. The sidewinder is excellent. I said go with 8 colors, because you will always need/want more colors available for 2 job set-ups, front and back designs, etc. Having more colors adds to flexibility. I had been working with a 4 color manual for years, but I suffered.
Just got a 7 color automatic, and I already need 3 more heads.
So, i think i would be better of with the Chameleon. If i am to get a 6/6 press should i get all heads down or would getting 4 heads down work well also?
