Default Emulsion question

Thanks all for the great advice you give here -- it has helped me alot.

Kind of a sill question -- we began purchasing emulsion in 1 gallon pails (Ulano QX-1). The emulsion works great for our shop (for designs that don't have too much detail). My question is this: How do you get the emulsion out of the 1 gal. can and into the scoop coater without having it run down the side of the pail and waisting/making a mess?

Thanks

Archer

i personally us a smaller scoop, like from a powder detergent, i dont wanna waste and wanna make a mess. i just scoop what i want right over the gallon pail. thats me though. i also heard that u can put the emulsion in a frigerator and it will last longer, dont know for sure.

We just pour into the scoop and use a piece of cardboard to wipe it back into the bucket and also to scrape the excess out of the scoop and back into the bucket.

What I do is purchase by the gallon, mix it up, pour into a quart container, and store the gallon in the fridge. The quart container becomes my "working" container, and it's easier to handle & clean up than the gallon container. I also keep the quart container in the fridge, just to extend the life; I put it out the nite before I due to coat screens to get to room temp.
