we have washed repeatedly, tried franmar ink remover which works great for our plastisol, dehazed, scrubbed more. The black ink is still deeply covering our large screen where the image was.
I see in post here, oh soap and water, it's awesom...currently we are producing far more waste, using far more water and far more chemicals to attempt to reclaim this screen than if we had just stuck to our pvc free plastisol...what's up!!! We do every thing we can to be as eco friendly as possible, now trying waterbased eco friendly inks and formaldyhyde free discharge and we've had nothing but a waste producing mess on our hands. PLEASE HELP! We'd like to figure out if this is something we are doing or truly finding out how much more waste is produced using water based.
The ink is dried into the screen and will not come out.
Nothing you can do that I could ever find after days of searching and calling people.
Fortunatly for me, mine was mostly just stain that wont come off and i am able to continue using the screen. Trust me, I know how you feel. It was days before I decided to just try and see if it would still work and I was not happy during that time. I was using a very large brand new never used high mesh screen.
I was told next time i should spray water on the screen after every few prints in order to keep it from drying while using it and to wash it out immediatly after printing.
Im not sure Ill be trying water-base ink again for awhile though.
Have you tried this? I use sprayways other screen opener occasionally for my plastisol screens but this one says it works with waterbase. The waterbase I've used recently is Matsui and I have not had any trouble with it drying in the screen.
I agree, you must flood after every stroke. Make sure your off-contact is enough that your flood doesn't affect your print. When you're done, take the ink out, pour some water (I use my trusty Poland Spring bottle) into the screen and wipe out all the ink, repeat as necessary.
I've never had that problem with matsui inks. Sorry about your woes! Don't give up the WB inks though, they have some minor annoyances, but are well worth it.
Hey, at least you know now how wash fast your ink is!

we are using wilflex and flooding after every print. We recoated the screen and will burn tonight lining the image up with the stain that is showing thru the emulsion....just an experiment. If it doesn't work i will get the sprayway for waterbased. THANKS for the tip!
Thanks Neato...I really want to figure this out so we can feel GOOD about using water based and not feel like we are environmental mosters...ya know....
