Default Dark to light fade

I am doing a screen print that has a fade from black and gets lighter https://webmail.hmc1.comcast.net/OWA...download1.html. it is the first one. the sidewall of the tire and the tire tracks have a fade. my film looks good and the dots look good when I burn the screens I cannot get the ink to come out in thru the dots on the screen I have used a 230 screen all the way to a 110 I am doing one coat emulsion on print side and backside should I only do it on the backside or on the print side? any other Ideas?

Thanks,
Greg

What emulsion are you using? Are your films very black? What ink? Is your squeegee sharp? What color of shirt?
If the shirts are white I'd probably use a 230 mesh screen coated one by one with a diazo emulsion. It sounds like an exposure issue to me.

Wink Re: Dark to light fade

make sure after burning the screen and washing it off, hold the screen to the light to see if you washed all the half tones also try to air blow excess water off the screen, because when you leave the screen to dry the drops of water from your frame may clog the half tones,
I hope that help

If your printing on royal blue shirts does that mean you have an underbase? If you have a solid white underbase I would print the black halftone fade on a high mesh like 230 or higher. If the art is a white haltone fade going into a black halftone fade you may be running into a problem with the black dots not falling into the white ones smoothly. This could be because white ink usually has a thicker ink deposit. It sounds like everything else is good as long as when you hold your screen up to the light you don't see any emulsion residue blocking the mesh.
