Default printing 100% poly (orange with white ink)

My friend wants jerseys done for his softball team this year. The only thing i can find in a softball-style look is 100% poly. Their colors are bright orange with white ink.

I am afraid of dye migration.

I am afraid dye sub wouldn't give a bright enough white.

I have no clue how to use poly additives, and wouldn't know where to start to test curing without melting... besides a really expensive pile of the jerseys, messing up however many it'd take.

I did some searching and nothing looks promising for this application based on what i saw. (i'd at least like to get some thoughts on best application so i know what i'm talking about if i go to outsource it.)

If not, i'll just try to convince him to do regular tees

thanks in advance...

I just printed 500 Royal blue 100% poly running shirts. We used QCM ATP series 2 inks. They cure at 300 degrees which is a lower temp than most poly garments will bleed at. QCM also makes a low bleed white (#170) that has dye blockers in it. I believe it also cures a little lower than most inks. You could also try Rutlands "dyno" grey, I think thats what it's called. It's a first down grey that you use as an underbase that will block dye migration. I've been told thats what they use on all the Under Armor stuff. Good Luck!

John-

thanks for the reply. i guess i'll try to find a "low bleed white" with one of my distributors and try curing it on test cotton before running a jersey.

does anyone else have experience with this type of printing? how does this ink flash, etc, etc...
