Hello. Iam new screenprinting and even though I already printed a few tshirts, I'm about to make a few dozens more but I'm kind of nervous. The first tshirts that I made were like a test for me even though the customer was pretty happy with them.
But with this new order the lady said this:
"the last guy that made tshirts for us used cheap material cause the design started cracking."
I'm afraid the ink will start to crack very fast. The plastisol ink I'm using is the one I got with a package when I bought a press. What' s a good plastisol ink that wont crack after a few washes. I want to have loyal customers!
At our shop we use Rutland, Wilflex, Union, Printers Choice (local brand), Triangle and International Coatings. I don't know which one I like best out of Rutland, Wilflex or Union cause they are all pretty close. If you can't find much info on the web on a certain brand, don't risk buying it. Stick with a well known company. I think you will get great results with any of the inks I mentioned.

Yeah, Lawson happens to be local for me.. In a pinch, I can drive 2 hours and get what I need. I dont have any complaints so far, but I havent used anything else in the way of plasti's either.
I prefer Union ink, Rutland is good but I find it just a little bit more shiney than Union. I'm using more and more QCM ink too, They make some creamy whites.
I've heard more and more good things about qcm. I guess I should give them a try. Anyone else recommend their inks, preferably their whites, always on the lookout for the next great white.
Hey, palstisol has a heavy pvc content must be brought up to 320 degrees for a few seconds all of the ink must reach 320 including the ink that is in the shirt fibers.there are several ways to tell 1) pull test print a strike off, cure, cool and pull, the image should stretch alot 20-30% without tearing 2) thermol gun so call infared thermomiter reads spot temp. 3)temp sensitive tape turns black at different temps.....jeff
