Default Quality to expect from belt printer

So we had our first runs on belt prints done. We are very very unhappy with the amount of flaws on the shirts (missed spots because of folds, ink seepage, etc.), but the printer said this is normal and to be expected. However, on the bigger accounts such as Obey's belt prints and on Billabong's belt prints I do not see the same flaws as I see on ours.

For those who have printed belt prints before or had any experience with belt prints, does anyone know what to expect? Thank you in advance!

Photos of the actual print would help here.

But it's true that belt prints will have flaws. Larger companies such as obey may print and sew. Some of their shirts are belt printed, but it also depends on the actual T-Shirt that might make all the difference.

Hey Matty,
Can you post a picture - I am waiting on samples back for my first belt printing project - and a little worried....just want to see what you are unhappy with...

Thanks!

Belt printing is like any other screen printing, you can't put the shirt exactly in the same spot every time, you are going to have some flaws. Its part of what we all do...lol
If you give a perfect shirt every time u will lose money, 5 percent I think is the norm as far as not so good looking.
