Seems like I'm asking alot of questions lately, turns out I know less about printing than I thought I did - not a problem, I love to learn.
Anyway I have a crapload of Union Ultrasoft Plus ink that I'm using to hopefully make transfers with, but I was wondering if this ink is also suitable for direct screen printing, right on a garment. I'm using 110 mesh screens.
Thanks, looks like they don't do too well on black shirts though - I have some International Coatings 700 series too that's a little more opaque, I might try that on my black shirts and use the ultrasoft for the whites.
EDIT: actually, maybe for my multi-colors I'll try the white underbase with the International Coatings ink, and the color on top of it with the Ultrasoft - is it ok to mix brands of ink like that if I flash the white before printing the color?
It's not a good idea to mix ink brands. I have found there is an adhesion problem of the different layers. Ultrasoft is for light colored garments only unless you underbase with a maxopaque white. Union also makes a transfer series of inks for darks that you can hot split.
