So I have sold some shirts and they have been done for over a week. I cured them with my flash dryer. A few people have washed them and they said the ink came out. Is it ok for me to flash cure the ones people have not worn yet? How long should I heat them for?
If water based they would probably be "air cured" after a week, while plastisol won't air cure. You should be able to cure them now. Just make sure ALL of the ink reaches 320F degrees for a few seconds. Otherwise it is not cured.

keep in mind that with cheep flash dryers {The one with a curved red elements like your oven has} that they have an uneven heat pattern.
Try putting a piece of white cotton under it at close range, and purposely scorch the fabric. You will see the pattern that the flash is heating up. {It looks just like the element shape right!}
This is an issue when people Cure ink with a flash.
I would make sure you slowly move the flash over the print, to ensure even heating.
Yea yea, it takes longer, but you wont have uneven cures!
Hey, our screen print supplier (texsource) sells stick on tempture sensors that turn black at different temps, cheap i think, they would give an indication of temp reached also harbor freight sells infared guns for 20ish on sale or take Freds advice...the pull test has been around longer than most other methods....has any one tried sticking a shirt in the wifes oven???? just wondering ....jeff...ps my guess is that you could cure palstisol years after it is printed...
I personally use a IR Thermometer to measure cure temp. Plastisols can sit for weeks or longer and feel cured but in in fact not be. They can however be cured again and will last just as long The best way is use some short of temperature measuring device. I also will use a flash dryer to cure a small run of shirts. Usually the flash dryer is about two inch's above the shirt and I leave it there for around 20 to 25 seconds. Then I hit it with the IR Gun and check the temp. By then the shirt is steaming that is a good indicator that the shirt and the plastisol have binded. But to answer your question you can re cure plastisol long after it has been screened.
