Default Reclaiming the screen

Newbie here. I printed a job this week-end and things seemed to go well until I tried to reclaim the screen. I sprayed screen with emulsion remover, let it sit awhile and scrubbed with brush, sit some more and then rinsed with water. Repeated this a few times. Some of the emulsion is still on the screen but much thinner then when I started. What can I use to remove the rest?

how long did you let it sit? Emulsion remover will lock up the emulsion fit you let it dry on the screen...What type of emulsion are you using? Some chemicals used for cleaning up ink can also lock up emulsion. I have used a haze remover and it worked for me when I have had these problems.

If it is just a ghost image, most times you will never get 100% of the ghost out. There is a remover just for ghosts, but still, your screen will not look like it did when new.

I generally don't worry about ghosts. It does not seem to affect the next job i put on the screen.

I'm using DXP-Dual cure direct emulsion:

I only let it sit for a minute at the most!

I did use some screen opener on the screen BEFORE I applied emulsion. Could this have caused the problem?

What is left on the screen is not a ghost image...it is my emulsion.

It could be emulsion hazing. Can you see through it clearly?

Brent - You can sorta see through it. There is a faint pinkish white tint (my emulsion is pink)

That sounds like it might just be emulsion hazing. My screens get like that. Do you have a power sprayer? I scrub mine with a dehazer, let them sit for maybe 15 minutes then powerspray them, and it gets that junk off. sometimes they pretty much look new, if they've only been used for white ink or discharge and aren't stained from color ink.

Use a power washer for removing emulsion. Spray on the emulsion remover on both sides, scrub down both sides, and wash off with power washer using hot water if possible. You really need a power washer for removing emulsion, It makes it much easier.

I must admit that I don't have a power washer. I'm using a garden hose sprayer on full force. Warm water???? I was told to use cold. I will give that I try. Thanks

Try some more remover and scrubbing then spray again. I use a hose attachement too on jet. cold water, works fine. Are you using a concentrated remover? maybe you diluted it to much before applying it.
