The printer is rather old, but in monochrome mode it is 600 dpi. If i owned it, i'd probably give it a try, but i wouldn't spend a much money on film till i was sure that it would work. Even though the printer is large, is should still be able to feed letter sized stock.

Depending upon the model, the 650c will print up to E size (36x48) paper, including A (ltr) size. I have one I bought for almost nothing that I'm having trouble with the black ink cartridge. I made a post about it but it was moved to the heat press forum.
