Sorry for the huge image link. Client needs around 380 of these, and then once registration ends they may need up to 30 more. My first feeling is to outsource to a plastisol transfer place, but do I just give them this image and hope for the best? If I were to screen print this I'd have to completely redraw it. And yes, that's a picture of a poster. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Reason: removed large image from post...attached smaller image
I would trace and redraw it in a vector format (est cost $25 ).... something needs to be done with the yellow back ground and the sqaure of the pool, which can be drawn.
If you have a nice clean original, you could make some adjustments and separate in Photoshop.
I do stuff like this all the time.
good luck

Yeah, this is the "nice clean original". It was hand drawn on poster sized paper, I don't have a scanner that big, so it appears that this picture of a poster is what I have to work from. Also this a ymca project so they like inexpensive prices, not sure they're going to get it with 8 colors! I'm extremely comfortable in illustrator and retracing this whole thing, I just wanted some professional input before I dive in!
Oh did I also mention they need them in less than two weeks? hehe I'm freaking out. Thanks y'all.
I would tell them that if they are interested in keeping the price reasonable that this is not a good candidate for screen printing. they may want to re-think the design. especially if they want it yesterday.

That shirt direct to the customer would be 4.20-4.95 each direct or contract for 2.70 to 2.95 - depending on which screen printer you go with. Any shop with an automatic could run that in one day easily.
I could sep it into a 4-color TYPE PROCESS, but really it's simulated process. Still uses spot colors, but not CMYK. Can be printed on any color with the whites, too.
We could even put a max color count on it. only want to use 5 colors? We can do that, and it will STILL look like the original.
I've done HUNDREDS of jobs this way, and can set it up on a manual press even!
Yeah, 4 color process on white tees if they wanna go cheap and let them know that without doing a few spot colors it'll look close but not accurate. Cost and accuracy is a balancing act for some jobs.
Thanks for all the input. Yeah I tried calling around to a few places, dowling seemed to be my best option, but they were a couple weeks out on a process job.
After calling numerous places, I went with Versatranz 2 graphics ganged on their 10x16 sheet. That got the price down to a reasonable amount while keeping spot colors. They also have a super-fast art approval process special this month so my order should print/ship tomorrow!
As far as the graphic went, I hand-traced the outline with an overlayed clear transparency. I have a graphics tablet but it was taking way too long. Then I scanned the hand traced black outline, adjusted in ps, then brought it into illustrator, live traced it, then live-painted in with the 3 colors they chose and a halftone grey.
