Default Flash drying/curing waterbased inks help

hey all

Could someone help clear this up for me. I use waterbased inks but as i understand i need to cure the inks after screen printing? I dont have room for an oven so a flash dryer will be best. How long do I need to flash these plus any other hints n tips with waterbase?

Cheers

Good Luck. We put ours twice through a 28' Gas Dryer with the belt slowed down. YOu have to get the water to eveaporate completely. I would wash test them for ink fastness if using a flash dryer.

Sorry, i have to what? Can I not just place the dryer on top thus drying the inks effectively or is there another step?

Make sure all areas of the waterbased print reach at least 320 degrees Fahrenheit. Use an infrared thermometer gun to ensure this. Larger prints you may have to cure in sections. It's not ideal, but it will do until you get a conveyor oven.

Well, when you say 'waterbased', you can be talking about a lot of different products. The brand that Brent uses can be cured quickly, while many cannot.

Can you tell us what brand you're using? Your best bet would be to contact your supplier or the manufacturer of the ink.

What ever brand he is using he should do a wash test to verify that his process works and the ink will not wash out.

I use Matsui and have never had fading in any of my wash tests.
