Perhaps 'correct', is not the right term to use. I would suggest the lamp with the most UV-A energy that you can afford.

Black light lamps will output more UV-A energy than almost any other fluorescent lamp.

8 watts is much less than 40 watts. 40 watts is the electrical energy in, not out.

I showed a picture of a fluorescent exposure unit in

Ulano QTX is a good choice because it is very sensitive.

Notice how the lamps are spaced the same width as any pair of lamps in a two lamp fixture.

thanka so much................all that really made me feel confident about my
purchase of the lights, now i'am gonna wait for them to get here and see how it goes.currently i'am using a 500 watt halo at 12-13 min to expose...so maybe
it will be faster.

It'll be faster than halogen.

I use the GE flourescent 20W blacklight GELF20T12BL. I have 6 in my home built model and I get an exposure time of 6 1/2 minutes using Kiwocol 225 WR. As Greaves mentioned, the distance between my bulbs is the standard spacing found on a typical flourescent light fixture.
