Default Applying TZ Emulsion

I have been using Ulano TZ emulsion somewhat frequently lately. I like that it is water resistant and that it holds detail so well. However when I apply the emulsion to my screens (110-305), 75% of the time I get a screen full of little dots or bubbles after drying. I stir the emulsion really well and let it set for about 15 min. before applying it yet this still happens from time to time. It's not always a problem since the bubbles don't always go through to produce pinholes, but I would really like to avoid this happening in the future. Tips???

Default Re: Applying TZ Emulsion

I use the TZ for waterbase inks and I've had no problems like you're experiemcing with it.

So if I had those problems I'd look at a few things:

1. Is the shelf life of the emulsion expired?
2. Has the coating room temperture/humidity changed?
3. Is the edge on the coater flawed?
4. Are the screens drying properly or has something changed?

I'm sure they are ple3nty more things that could be investigated.
