setting up my exposure unit do i need a dark room

Default setting up my exposure unit do i need a dark room

im setting up my exposure unit and was woundering if i can get away with putting it in the same room i have all my other equipment. the room has two windows which i have some blinds on but still lets light. now dow i really have to have a full on dark room with only a yellow light or can i get away with maybe some dark curtains .

You can cover the windows with rubylith. It is a dark red film that blocks out the UV rays. It also comes in yellow.

thanks for the info but im not sure the boss (wife) will like that on the window since the window faces the front of the house. I can hear here now !!

If you can build a light-tight drying cabinet and/or store the screens in a dark closet, I think you'll be fine. Just don't let coated screens linger in sunlight of course.

What I do is either A, wait till night and coat my screens then.. or B, pull all the shades down incredibly tight (so minimal light comes in)..

As for drying my screens.. I put them in an oversized box (of course.. spaced apart and not sitting on the botton of the box), close the box and let it sit over night.

We took a spare office coverd the windows and painted it black. We aslo use a yellow light.
