Perhaps instead of trying to undercut the other local printers, focus on better service, better quality, or filling some sort of niche. My niche is small orders, doing easy stuff in small runs that other printers won't do.
stuart, my question was asked so i could be more competitive it said nothing about undercutting competitors.also i have been screening for over 20 yrs so my quality and service i did not need addressed.but i have started my own business and needed a little business help. thanx for your input though! i am not trying to be sarcastic either.
It's hard to help you without having the specifics. When you say $1.60 for Gildan 2000's, what colors are you talking about?
And if you've been 'screening' for over 20 years, why aren't you familiar with the many, MANY suppliers in the country? They all offer competitive prices that any printer should be able to work with.
Not trying to sound sarcastic, but it just seems like a strange thing to ask for someone who's been in the business for so long.

In reading his post, I get the impression that he has been doing screen printing for a long time but is now starting on his own..I guess before he was an employee.
For Robb...get accounts with sanmar, brodek, jiffyshirts etc..and you will get emails on specials.. and you can browse to find what you need
i am not familiar with the ordering aspect of screenprinting because i worked for a large printing co. and it had it's own purchasing dept, art dept(4 in house artists).heck they even had their own screenmaking dept.i was the screenprinting mgr and production mgr.screenprinting is like walking and talking to me , but the purchasing and marketing aspects are making me grey ..........fast.lol.virginia t's is here in town so they are the only ones i have used so far. thanx to everyone for all your support. i am sure i will need to lean on you again in the near future.....................gibster
Hey Robb, if you're hooked up with Virginia T's, you're good. They're a fantastic company. You may be able to find shirts a few pennies cheaper, but Virginia T's customer service is worth a little more.
Also, factor in shipping. If you are close enough to a VATS to pick up your orders, you'll save over a lower price where you might have to incur shipping costs.
We use Broder, Alpha, & VATS for most of our purchasing. They have competitive prices and I can order a variety of pieces in colors and styles.
