Default Printing on Blankets: HELP!!

Hey everyone.. i needed some insight on how to print on a blanket with 2 layers that aren't binded together.. so just putting it on the shirt board would not work especially with more than one color bc the top layer is still loose.
Would a jacket hold down work??

Need some feedback ASAP.. job is due in a couple of days

thanks in advance!!

I think the jacket hold down should work.

What type of material are the blankets made of?

Are you going to flash between colors or print wet on wet?

UGH....Personally, I won't do multi color prints on nylon. You can't flash between colors because the temperature changes will cause the nylon to expand and contract (even with a hold down) making registration immpossible. At least that's what I have found.

You also need to add a nylon bonding agent to your inks. The nylobond causes the inks lose viscosity and harder to work with. I have not tried to do a wet on wet with inks that have nylobond added to them. I'm not sure how much, if any, the second screen will affect the first color you print. If there are no traps in your art, you might try to print wet on wet.

Sorry I don't have any good solutions for you.

Good luck,

Ken

YOU NEED SOME KIND OF NYLON ADDITIVE BUT I DON'T USE A CATALYST.USE A PLASTISOL ADDITIVE LIKE RUTLAND NMSS CLEAR AT 40% OR WILFLEX NYLON BASE AT 25%.ADD IT YOUR REGULAR INK.IT WILL BOND TO NYLON,WON'T GET HARD AS A ROCK AFTER IT CURES AND WHAT IS LEFT IS GOOD FOR THE NEXT USE OR JUST PUT IT ON TEES.
