Hey guys, I tried to find the answer to this but didn't have much luck, sorry. How much should I expect to pay for a DECENT professional quality heat gun for flash curing? Before anything else, let me say I will probably not bother using it too often if I get one anyway, I will most likely get a flash dryer because I can see how a heat gun can be time consuming on larger orders. I was just curious about the cost because if they aren't too steep, I would probably get one anyway just for touchups and small prints.
if you are getting a flash dryer, then don't bother worrying about heat guns. Once you have a flash (or even better a conveyor dryer) then they are useless.
heat guns are extremely time consuming and inefficient, and it is difficult to be sure that you have cured the whole area of the design.
heat guns are very inexpensive though (usually around $20-$30), so they are the option for many beginners... but are usually outgrown very quickly if you plan on printing more than a couple shirts at a time.
we had to get one because our flash dryer had broke on us (our fault) and we need something while it is getting repaired and we bought ours at Harbor Freight for $9.95. But let me tell you I can not wait till the flash dryer comes back.
