I'm going to do you a real favor. For about 10 years I sold POS software and one of my favorites sold for about $ 895.00 for the single user version. I can't believe it, but they are now giving it away! Not a trial, but forever.

Check it out - Welcome to POSitive Software Company - Home Download it an go. It will do all sorts of things, including a matrix that allows you to show shirts by style / size / color, etc.

If you like it send me a couple of hundred, since I saved you so much.

Try a trial version of T-quoter or PriceIT. Those are about the best.

a POS programs would be great for retain operation but for normal invoicing in internet and non store front operations, what is wrong with using an excel template?

Whatever works for you. POS software is so much more. It tracks sales of each item. The one I suggested above gives monthly sales of each item in stock. You can email the invoices.

It really depends on your operation, how much information you want on your business, how anal you are, etc. Some people just want to make product and hope their checks don't bounce. Others want a firm grip on their business.......

Why do you always stay a version behind on windows? Is it to save money or because of windows constent problems with new software like whats going on with vista now?

Both of those, plus.

I'm comfortable with what I have. It does way more than I am capable of making it do. Why go through the learning curve when there is no real benefit? I do no graphics, I don't even use MSPaint, let alone Corel, PS, etc.

Next time I buy or build a PC and it's got Vista, I'll force myself to learn t, but right now I can build my sites, do my spreadsheets, keep my books, etc. just fine with XP.

I'm an old fart and could do all I ever want to do with W95 or W98.

Except for the point & click graphical interface I could do all I needed with DOS and even CP/M before that.

Spreadsheet, word processor, database, did all I need.
