Hi, I am very new to this and have so far only made one shirt kinda just testing out the new equipment. Well we are printing on the shirt and the ink has a texture. What is contributing to that? Too much ink? Not enough? is it the mesh? or is it the off contact pop at the end? or finally is it the heat through the conveyor? I have a conveyor dryer I was told that was suppose to reach about 320 degrees but what speed should the conveyor be at? Thanks
yeah.. i am talking plastisol ink..
i think Rutland ink calls it soft hand and Union calls it finesse..
it is an additive to mix your ink.. it looks like petrolum jelly and
can be mixed up to i think 50% with your ink.. it makes your ink much smoother
and creamer.. a lot easier to work with.. working with ink right from the tub is difficult.
ask your distributor for it..
where is the best place to get ink.? or anything else? I bought all my things in one package from silk screen supplies. Does anyone know where I can get it locally or the best price?
what do you suggest to do to get the correct off contact? The mesh is 110 for regular block lettering and logo. The squegee technique is that we press it across at 80 degree angle.
what we do is make sure that the ink is properly cured, then stamp it with an iron, that should smooth it out and if its not dry it will smere... also try 2 passes maximum when applying the ink
the texture happens on the first pass so whatever we do after is just intensified. So I don't think its the curing. And we only do two passes. I'm thinking that its the off contact or not having addittive to the ink.
