Default old screens

Hello all
I have a couple of questions
1. When do you replace your screens? i have old screens that i got with my press (used) some of the screens have been restretched. some of the secrrn is coming off of the frame at the sides. All of my frames are wood i have some that are warped found this the hard way.

2.When should you buy new squeegees? Like all of my equipment they are used. also what durometer should I get? I do mostly white ink on blue shirts.

Thanks for all your help
Rob

This is one of those questions where 10 people will give you 10 different answers. The better your tension the better your print results. I would keep them as long as they seem to have pretty good tension and your are satisfied with your results.

Replace screens if they are warped. Good flat screens are important.

Squeegee blades get soft and lose their edge with time.
I replace mine about every 6 months, this depends on how much you use them.

70 durometer is the average - 60 durometer has more flex and 80 is stiffer.

I'd replace wooden screens as you can afford to. I keep a bunch around for one colour prints, etc. (because I got them cheap), but I avoid wood for anything important as much as possible.
