try stirring up and coat a screen or 2, shoot it and see. my bet is that it's no good, though.

Try giving it a good mix again. Sometimes the emulsion will lump a little, (depends what consistancy clay would be), but anyhow, try mixing it and coat a test screen.

It's happened in our shop before, and we freaked as it was gallons of them, so we mixed and tested, it works great without a problem. TEST IT BEFORE YOU TOSS IT!

is there anything that can be added to the emulsion to thin it back out? i find it hard to coat a screen evenly even with a scoop coater.

Default Re: lumpy emulsion

was it pre-sensitized or diazo emulsion???

If it's diazo i'm certain it's bad, as the shelf life is generally 3-4 months after mixed even in proper storage.

If it was presensitized, I'd stir it up and do as the others said, coat 2 screens and try it.

Good luck!

Filter it through screen mesh to pull out the lumps, then try it, BUT

If is was diazo sensitized 6 months ago it is hardly worth trying to save a US$25 quart.
