Default Any tips on the Nuarc First light?

Hello all, I am looking to get a new exposure unit, and with all the talk in the forums about metal halide being the best, I would like some advice on what to do. I am wondering if anyone has any input on the Nuarc First Light, if it is worth the money, or if it would be worth it to build my own metal halide unit. Is the First light capable of producing high quality halftones? Any input would help! Thanks!

Thank you Fred, I appreciate it. I am upgrading and am stuck on the exposure unit question. I have a cheap unit right now with the blacklight bulbs and it has served its purpose, but I need quicker exposure time and more 'crisp.' Your info should help. I thank you again!

I'm in the process of converting my fluorescent setup to metal halide.

here's some good info people gave on my thread:

mine is an old nuarc light table that i chopped up in order to put stronger lights in, but i'm getting to the point where i need a single light source.
i bought a MH bulb on ebay for $1 (hope it works!!!) and a ballast for $65, shipping and all i've got about $100 in it. you'll need to build the structure if you don't already have one. check out the one in the thread, it's really nice for a home-built one.
