If the design is not too detailed, you could try to mask the plastisol ink with a teflon sheet under the press?
We have run a plastisol job with foil before but it was a very tedious and painful process. The foil needed to go down first. The job went as follows:
- Print foil base
- Flash foil base
- Apply foil (with iron, whilst still on the board)
- Print base
- Flash base
- Print final colour.
I prefer to screen print metallic inks rather than apply foils.
Metallic inks do have a good sheen, you can get finer detail, they are easier to run (and cheaper), but most unfortunately tarnish after 4/5 washes. |
