I just found out when they tell you the screen size (22 x 31) , its really not that size because the boarder is 2 inches which takes it down to 20 and then i suppose to give it a extra inch or two for mistakes which leaves (18 x 25)..... IS THIS REALLY TRUE???? DO I HAVE TO LEAVE ONE OR TWO INCHES FOR MISTAKES???????
the sizes are the outer dimensions. on a screen that size, i'd give your self a couple inches on each side and 4 or more inches on the ends to have room for ink.
what do you mean by mistakes? are you stretching your own?
actually me and business partner are now thinking of getting one very soon and we need for it to print a very big area on the front of the shirt but found out thru the buyer that a 20x24 screen isnt the image size .... but the bigger they go the higher the price and i dont mean by a couple of dollars either
The printing area should be surrounded by at least 2-3 inches on all sides, in my opinion. You need room to tape off your image, room to work the squeegie, and room to push and pull your inks around. Any less and you'll get ink all over your frame. Yuch! Good luck!
will one inch around the screen be good enough?????
It wouldn't be comfortable to print, and isn't worth shaving a few bucks off the screen cost; between labour increase, shirt spoilage, etc. you'll more than pay out the difference.
