Default I want to stop cutting positives for my screen's

Hello everyone.

I am new to screen printing and want to stop cutting my images on Ruby film. I would like to print them. I am unsure of what printer and other supplies I need. I don't what to spend more that 500 or 600 less if possible. Not sure how much screen printing business I will have. I am a vinyl shop for the most part.

Thank for the help

Phil

Just curious, are you hand cutting or using the plotter for that?

As for the printer, the Epson R1800 is a popular choice; there's a few recommendations in the screenprinting section of the forums.

I have not done ruby lifts since the late 80's! That's old school!

Get you a Epson 3000 off ebay - and do your films that way. You can get one for 2-300.00 -

after doing many hours of research I found that the epson R1800 is a good starting point. My main question is RIP Program yes or no. I have read many threads on different forum's with conflicting ideas. Any help would be great.

That is the way some other guy told me to do it. As far as I can see I can cut and press 1 or 2 color business type logo's just as fast with heat transfer stuff. I guess speed comes with time.

Thank for any help.

Phil

when i worked at my dad's shop, we'd cut regular vinyl and apply it to acetate, we buy it at a local art supply house. works fine for most stuff, easier to weed than ruby.
