Default Curing Tools

I am trying to find a way to cure my shirts. I don't have the money to buy a flash dryer just yet. And I not excited about buy a ton of heat lamps either. Is there any other devices that can be used to do the job. Someone in my family had the idea of a space heater. Could this work?

Curing plastisol requires that the entire ink film achieve a temperature of 320 F. Flash cures are not designed to to fully cure ink, but rather skin it over so an additional print can be printed over the top. While a flash cure can fully cure the ink the problem is that you typically have the shirt stuck to a press platten which is acting as a heat sink so you need to ensure that the back of the ink reaches temperature as well.

Basically any heating device can be used. An industrial heat gun may be an option for you.

How do you tell if the shirt is fully cured.

Side note: just did a test by putting a candy themometer about 2 inches next to a 1500watt space heater and it got to 175 degree F.

How hot does a heat lamp put off?

I use a blow dyer on the logo for about 3 minutes...then I iron the logo inside and out with a piece of fabric between the iron and logo for about 5 min. works for me.

The only sure way to verify cure is to verify what tempurature you get the ink to using an infrared thermometer, temperature strips, a temperture probe etc.

A good indicator assuming you don't have the correct tools is to simplu stretch the shirt. If the ink stretches without cracking you are probably ok.
