Re: Process Printing Personally i don't see any special reason to charge more for process color than for spot color other than the fact that the job probably uses more colors. At quantities over 100, $1 per color per shirt plus the price of the shirt. Of course orders smaller than 100 shirts need to be charged some sort of extra price per shirt. While at 100 shirts a process color job on a black shirt might cost $7.00 per shirt, the same shirt in a quantity of 12 might cost $12 per shirt.
Printing process color requires calibration and consistency. Separating process color is a relatively easy task, but some key decisions are left in the hands of the person doing the separation which can greatly influence the quality of the final separations. The primary issues is the creation of a mask and how much black generation to perform along with which, if any, photoshop filters should be applied prior to outputting.
Printing process color demands consistency, but once the process is under control good results are almost automatic.
