I am new here, so please forgive me if I am repeating a popular question.
I am based out of NYC and I am up to the part of screen printing my tees - about a quantity of 200 to start. I never thought I would have such a hard time finding a screen printer co. in NYC. Everything I come across looks like they do Promotional tees or corporate logo shirts. I am doing a high-end tee, so for example; I would like the quality to be similar to an Affliction tee. I know you can not give names, but is there a screen printing classified section of a magazine or somewhere that I should be looking? Also, is it normal to ship pieces out of state for screen printing? I see some companies that look good in other states and I don't know if it’s common or a good idea to send things out because of shipping costs and the inconvenience of waiting on samples.
For those who are familiar with this process, any suggestions or direction would be appreciated - thanks.

Often the printers who do corporate work, etc. are the same as those who do fashion work - the skills and equipment are the same, it's mostly just a matter of which kind of client they want to go after and therefore target their advertising to.
True they are less likely to be flexible in their methods, do soft hand prints, etc. but it's worth a try if other options you would prefer are exhausted.

Once you have fifteen posts here you can post a request in our Classifieds section if you'd like to.

I wouldn't say normal, but I wouldn't say unusual either.

Ultimately you have to go with whoever you can actually find (a local printer you've never heard of is no help to you), but there's no way NY wouldn't have what you need.
Thanks for the tips . I will follow your advice and visit a couple of places to show them examples of what I want. It's better to meet with them in person anyhow. Thx again.
