No, not talking about Rush the Canadian Rock Band.
Me and a few others over the past little while have been researching some Customer Service elements in order to improve and keep up with online and off-line sales/service. One of these elements is the Mr. Rush Order situation....so to the point.
How do you screen printers or anyone selling handle Mr. Rush-Rush New Client ? you know, the client that needs the job done in a couple of days but is not able to provide a deposit or full payment right away. Because they are a NO-payment until they get an Invoice operation and their "HeadOffice" needs to approve everything and who knows when they will.
We are talking about a rush job here. From our end, we need to schedule the job in, so without some payment upfront we can not go further. Is there another way to tackle Mr. Rush-Rush situation in order to make the sale and a new customer ?
Please help me figure this out. ...so that i can complete my report/research on this service element and gain a few more brownie points.

If its a new customer, I would rather not do the Job.. I have a stack of unpaid invoices from this very scenereo.... If its an honest Rush because they got caught short then they should meet you half way by "Rushing" a deposit.... For exsisting customers with a track record of paying on time then no problem infact got a rush for 500 shirts and only 48 hour notice... we delivered and to my surprize the customer took it upon theirself to add 500.00 to the bill in appricieation of our deliverying on such short notice... Good Luck with your report...
I concur....don't bother with it. If they do much screen printing they have a regular printer. If their regular printer won't rush it for them there is a reason. Even if you do it, there is no guarantee of future business from them. Get the deposit or decline the order with explanation.
I love it when companies want you to bend your rules but they won't bend theirs.

I like that idea Richard. Makes those rush jobs seem worth taking!
So you're saying that for a one day rush, you're adding 200%, in effect tripling your cost?
Yep and you would be amazed at the number of orders that get processed this way. Everyone waits until the last min and it leave no room for error and makes for serious production changes. Worth it if you get the rush fees
