when printing on darks 100% of 50/50 i am having to use 2 strokes flash 2 strokes to get complete coverage. this is causing a large build up of ink and making my prints look like crap. i am using union dimond white. will using a curable help solve the build up issue?
also does anyone have a recomendation on what screen mesh to use when printing white on dark for text?
For underbases we use a 230 mesh when printing mulitple colors. When we print just a white image that is not very detailed we will sometimes use a 158 mesh all the way down to 84. It really all depends on what the image looks like. We are using Wilfelx Artist Plus White or Quick White on 100% cotton shirts. On 50/50 shirts we use Wilflex PolyWhite. We single stroke flash single stoke. We also are using a triple duromoter(sp) squeege 60/90/60.

i spoke to my supplier today and they suggested using a 110 screen when using union's dimond white. i have heard other printers say they use dimond white for underbase and white only images. also they said they use 123 for simple designs and 156 mesh if there needs to be any half tone dots. but the ink seems too thick for that. i don't mind using a 110 for some jobs but 123 seems to get a crisper line. you would'nt think the 13 mesh diffrence between the 2 would'nt make that big of a differance but seems to. that is why i was thinking a curable reducer would help the ink (dimond white) clear the screen.
Stirring the ink makes all the difference in the world. If you don't stir the ink, the ink that gets put down tends to want to form spikes which looks like little fuzzies.
Spend 5 minutes stirring the ink and try it again. You'll be amazed at the difference.

ok, i stirred the ink for several minutes and it helped but didnt solve the problem. my white prints are not coming out very good. i also droped the screen mesh down to 110.
the design i'm doing is 2 color, white and pink. i took the white and mixed a little red in to make the pink. the pink comes out great but the white looks like crap. should i try another brand ink or a curable reducer?
