Smile Technique??

Hi all

Does anyone know any techniques or special tips to line a t-shirt up properly on the plattern?

I seem to spend more time lining a shirt up than actually printing. Ive heard of lining the centre up with a crease down the middle of the shirt... but the shirts I use dont have creases down them?

Any ideas???

Cheers
James

Default Re: Technique??

I have a centerline drawn on my platen (used a black sharpie marker). When I load a shirt - I put it on all the way till the shoulder seams are touching the edge, line up by eye the tag with my center line, verify that the weave of the fabric is fairly close to parallel with my center line, and then smooth it down by a quick hand swipe before I lower the screen (after I have set the correct placement of the collar for image location). Its a process that once you get the hang of, should take no more than a couple of seconds.

Even with dark colored shirts, you can situate a bright light off to one side of your press (that comes in on an angle) that will show a line even through a black shirt.

If that doesn't satisfy lining up the shirt, you could be having an issue with your platen being out of square with the screen/image.

I'm definitely a novice here and would love to hear from some of the big guys here myself on their techniques.
