Default Back clamp vs sideclamp

Hi,

I have the opportunity to buy a vastex V-2000HD, but I am not confident that the back clamp will hold a good registration compare to a side clamp.

Does someone has any suggestion to help me choose my press ?

Thks

That's a really good press. If it's a good deal, go for it.

I think most presses out there are actually back clamp. That's what I have. It holds fabulous registration.

There are a lot of benifits to a back clamp press. I used to have one with side clamps. I prefer the back clamps.

if you have tight, preferably alum. frames, you should have no problem. you can hold bigger screens, but you have to be careful when burning your screens. you only have about an inch front to back movement, so they have to be in the same spot on each screen or you'll have a tough time reg'ing. that's one benfit of side clamps, you have more front/back movement

Back clamps are good yet side are definently better. The reason you see more back clamps is that they are cheaper than side clamps. Side clamps will hold the screen better and give you more room for error when lining the art on screens for burning.
Back clamps have minimal forward and backward adjustments as far as holding the screen, mainly side to side adjustments. Side clamps give you the best of both worlds.

A press with a good back clamp is still a good press

thks for all your advice. I am sure vastex is a good press, but due to the ease you have with side clamp, it will be my final choice !

Thks again

Which has more support, a tray of drinks held from the side, or the back?
