Default Palcement of images

How far down on a t-shirt do I start my print. How far down from the collar does the print start on the front and the back of the t-shirt. Where can I find some kind of guild lines for this.

3 to 4 fingers form the bottom of the collar usually works perfectly. All designs will vary slightly and is best to look at the first shirt for a visual. 3 fingers may be too much on one design and not enough on another. There really isn't a true standard everyone goes by. We judge on a per design basis yet most fall in the 3 to 4 fingers

I gotta go with Fluid on this. For me it depends on the size of the design and the size of the shirt.

On the back it's the same call, look at other shirts and copy it. Allot of the time it's a judgment thing.

Thanks everyone, as usual the members of this wonderful form are very helpful. I guess it would also depending on the size of the fingers. My fater-in-law and also partner has much larger (fater) fingers than I.

Consider also how the design will look when the shirt is folded, if you or your customers will be display the tees on shelves. I generally adhere to the 3 finger rule, as this allows the design to be prominent on our shelves, and not cut off at the fold.

we had a 18 width but the 24 inch was the most requested. It was hard doing both. I just contracted out to have most of the production done by another company so that is going to help a lot. What size is it that you think would work for you. remember the 24 inch allow you to go from one side of the shirt to the other as well as using the centering piece for accuracy.

See pic. If you do volume then you want to make sure each piece is exactly the same.
