Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has ever screenprinted hats or shoes? The shoes I would like to screen print would be the slip-ons, classic van style. Some call them loafers? anyway just looking for tips on printing on these two objects. Thanks!

Good question, I would like to know as well. Bump for you, thanks
Technical issues aside, i don't see how shoes would make a product. How could shoes be sold in significant enough quantity to make it a business? The shoe business appears to be dominated by a finite number of vendors, who primarily sell through factory shoe stores. The factory has the option of printing the show before it is sewn.
Even if it were possible to post production print on a shoes, where would the blanks come from and where would the finished product be sold?
Each size of shoe might need its own mounting fixture. How many sizes are needed?

Sounds like a challenge.
If it can be thought up, it can be done.

as for the shoes... i have a pair of Pro Keds- that canvas chuck taylor material- that were printed by a design collective in new york. i'm not positive, but i thought they told me that the limited edition run was printed in house. so that they contacted Pro Keds for the canvas pieces, printed them to their own specs, shipped them back to Pro Keds to be built.
no idea how much this costs... these kids don't exactly hurt for money.
perhaps a quick call to a shoe company wouldn't hurt though...
