Can I acid etch a shirt by screenprinting it? How is this done on the styles I see in the stores?
There are designs "Burned?" Into the shirt, leaving very little fibre. It alsmost makes it sheer in specified areas {i.e the design}
How hard is this?
Im guessing wear a respirator?
Thanks!

Re: Can I acid etch a shirt by screenprinting it? I think they use lasers to 'burn' away the layers, have a look at laserprouk.com, they have some towels on their showcase that have a design 'sheered out' of the fabric. They can be used to remove colour from denim etc. I have seen them 'burn' a design into a pair of jeans by removing the colour.
I don't know if you could use acid but how would you stop it from going too far and ruining the garment.

Re: Can I acid etch a shirt by screenprinting it? burn out ink can remove just the cotton from a 50/50 blend and leave a cool sheer effect.

Re: Can I acid etch a shirt by screenprinting it? Stuart is correct. Wilflex carries the burn out base
