Default Is this a good buy?

I'm in the process of negotiating with a guy to buy his 4 color, 1 station press. It is a little older (10 years) but in good working condition. It has micros, a couple screens, and a base (not table top).

MY QUESTIONS IS: He wants $1,000 for it. Does this seem reasonable? I was looking online and found many 4/1 presses for $750-$900. But, this is local (no shipping), he can deliver it to my house. Am I being unreasonable for wanting it for less?

Thanks for your input!

Probably need more info.

What brand? How old?

Seems a little high for a used 4 color one station though. You'll outgrow that press in no time.

It's a gold canyon. About 10-15 years old.

Personally that seems pretty high for that old of a press, with only 4 colors and 1 station.

I would hold out for something with more stations.Printing with one station is going to be slow. It seems a little high, but not to bad.

Also watch out for off brands you won't be able to find parts. Try Hopkins.

Thanks for the feedback. I had a feeling it was overpriced. I think I need a 2 station at the minimum anyways.

Default Re: Is this a good buy?

I was able to get a CAPS 6-4 that is about 5 years old for 1200$ canadian.

That was through my local distributor who was consigning it for another printer in town, which means there was a middleman and therefore a higher price, so 1000$ for a 4-1 seems expensive to me.
