We don't know enough about your situation to really answer. What is your real question? If you tell us what you want it to do, or how much an HP4P costs, we could comment.

If I assume that you want this small letter sized, personal (P) laser printer that was designed 10 years ago to make positives, I would tell you no, you cannot get reliable opaque positives with the toner deposit from this personal sized printer.

If you need to buy an output device to make positives for screen making this forum is loaded with threads explaining what the industry standards are.

HP laser printers are not.
Is this a printer you already own?

Are you sure you mean 'negatives' and not positives. Screen printing screens are made with positives.

EPSON makes inkjet printers used for screen making in 13", 17, 24" and 44" widths.

Considering that you don't want to spend $300 on a printer; a lot.

Epson R1800
~$550

Epson R2400
~$850

It is a good investment though when you can swing it. Trips to Kinkos are expensive.
