Default Screen printing equipment help

I've recently become interested in purchasing a silk screen start up kit to make my business a little easier. I'm interested in getting some advice from people who are a little bit more experienced than myself in this subject.

Specifically I'm looking for:

1. 2-4 color press, which includes everything I will need to get started (dryer, emulsion, ink, screens, etc.)

2. Something around $1500 or less preferably.

3. It doesn't need to be the best equipment, but I would like it to produce quality shirts which can be replicated over and over. I mostly print 1 and 2 color shirts.

I have heard of good deals like this one: Semi-Pro Complete Screen Printing Setup, but I'm not sure of the quality. Anyone care to help me out? Have you had experience with this product, or do you know any others that would do the job?

M&R make pretty good stuff. Not sure of current pricing but there is a press that has pneumatic registration for the screen to hold it in place better.

Mike you ought to check out U.S. Screen Print & Inkjet Technology. In your neck of the woods. Will get tons of info and I believe they offer in house classes.
M&R is the best yet not in your budget unless you can find a used one.

Richard,

I don't see screen printing equipment on that site, just printers and such. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Look at the industry links for many suppliers. I was mainly mentioning their in house classes as they will also help with suggestions on start up equipment as well.
I don't know anything about all the start up packages or I would offer my advice. There has been a lot of discussion on this here in the forums so a general forums search should get you some good info as well

I actually read somewhere that the largest t-shirt companies outsource their printing.

Semi-Pro Complete Screen Printing Setup

I bought a 6 color press kit through this site and its great. The customer service is good to. The only thing I didn't like was that the press is magnetic. Which makes it loud, but I can live with it.
