wanna do some 4 color process

Default wanna do some 4 color process

hey,
for a while now ive been printing pretty simple stuff. mainly 1 color, 2 color logos for bands, local buisnesses and such. i wanna try my hand at some 4 color process to see if i can do it. i have a manual 4 color press. what mesh count screens do i need? i also need yellow mesh as well, right?

Your best bet is to get 305 mesh and yellow is preferred yet 230 will suffice.
(yellow does not reflect uv light as white will = better burn)

I would also suggest starting out with a larger halftone. 42 or 45 line frequency. Printing manually the larger dot will be easier to control.

You also might read up on channel angles (separation angles). Every shop seems to have their own "magic" numbers. I can suggest some when I get back to the office.
