Well the thing is, my emulsion remover never got shipped yet, and it was my first time to try the print and it didnt work as good, so is there any ways to remover the emulsion i tried hot water and that didnt work well, i tried javax and that didt do anything ether, is there any chemils aroudn the house or anything to remove it?
none that I know of. If in fact there is something out there it probably isn't too good for the mesh. If your in dire need you might try contacting a local print shop to see if you can purchase a small amount until your order arrives.
Just let them know your a hobbyist (even if not true) and they may just help you out.
Yea if you don't have the chemical to remove the emulsion and you tried a scrub brush and hot water (for like an hour) then you can try a power washer which seems to be the key to cleaning up screens successfully.
I think this is the right thread to post this, I am actually having a problem or rather lack of experience with cleaning plastisol ink. I just switched from waterbased and I remember now why I was leery about using plastisol. I did a print with a red color ink and now I have pink stains on everything in my garage including the shop sink haha. Well the question is if there is a thread with cleanup tips or recommended products. I tried to scrape up as much as I could but it was still hella messy. I used Mineral Spirits but it seemed like it made MORE of a mess and just thinned out the pigments but didn't really clean anything. I would love to be able to spray something on the screen and then hose it off the way my emulsion remover works. If you guys have any wisdom of the ages I would be very happy. And if this post is in the wrong thread I'm sure Rodney will let me know

I have used Citrastrip to successfully remove emulsion from around the sides of a screen (that I burned on with lacquer thinner..), so this might work to remove the emulsion. It works pretty well as a dehazer as well.
As far as the call to help cleaning inks off screens, I second that. I tried using lacquer thinner (see above..), as well as mineral spirits, and both turned out very badly. I finally broke down today and ordered some Lawson press wash, as well as some ink degradent.
I am trying to find as many chemicals that are locally available to use, as I dont have a supplier closer than three hours away, some are working, some are not..
I use easy clean wr concentrate screen cleaner from sun chemical. It is by far the best screen cleaner I have ever used for removing plastisol.I never have a trace of colour left before I reclaim the screen. It is also very effective at removing ghost images too. Dilute with between 50/80% water.
Certainly the muts nuts as far as I am concerened....

Is this a press wash or a ink degradent? In other words, can I use this between colors or before storing a screen, or will it soften the emulsion?

It is only really suitable for cleaning up once your print run is finished. You can also combine it with stencil strip to clean and reclaim in one go. Remember to use a pressure washer for best results.
Well I'm justa bout to order the bean-e-do from franmar I heard it was a good ink degradent some where else on the board so I'll post my results. I just bought a used 1500PSI power washer today too so I think that will make a difference in cleaning as well.
I'd be more inclined to listen to your advice if you gave some details or a personal account. I've read else ware on the board that its a bit harsh. Are you talking clorox for the ink cleaning or reclaiming?
how about for dried water based, i had to go out of town unexpectedly and my screen sat for 5 days only partially cleaned. i still have traces of black ink from the previous image embedded, I've been trying my emulsion removed hot water and soft brush, but at this rate it's going to take a full day of elbow grease to remove anything....
Once its dried out the water has evaporated and the partials will begin to bond together and bond to the screen and you wont be able to use just water to wash it out. Probably your best bet would be to try a good haze remover to get dried waterbased ink out of the screen.
