Default Numbering System recommendation?

I am looking in to getting a numbering system and have been looking at the System from CAPS with the master frame and 10 screens. I've also been looking at the cheaper version from SilkScreeningSupplies.com. Looks like the CAPS system is a bit more heavy duty, but so is the price. Caps system runs around $1,200 and the cheapy from SSS runs around $350. It also looks like the CAPS system has a rack for the screens and a scoop coater that fits them.

Has anyone used one of these systems, even from a different brand? Would anyone have any recommendations on the best numbering system on the market? I've had to turn away 3 jobs in the last month because I'm not numbering yet, and the whole paper stencil thing sort of freaks me out considering I am still struggling to get my white prints even sort of smooth. I can't afford and don't have the space for an inline system or a dedicated press. But it looks like this type of system is what I'm needing.

Thanks for the input!

Hi Mark,

I saw this system at the ISS show in Long Beach in January. It looked like it worked good.

Pocono Mt. Screen Supply - Products - Score Keeper Athletic Numbering System

Check it out, see what you think. I hope this helps and Good Luck.

You do know that you can buy screen printed number transfers and vinyl cad-cut numbers?
All you need is a heat press.

I'm with PrintMonkey on this one. We dont print numbers and strictly use Stahls'- Heat transfer presses, CAD-CUT materials, Roll Goods, vinyl cutters and more for our names and numbers. Not enough jobs to warrant purchasing a system.

If you go the heat press route, any recommendation on a decent one that's cost effective? I'd probably only use it for numbering or name/numbering.

I bought ours from a shop going out of business years ago. have no clue as to the brand but it works like a champ.

I would say your best bet would be to ask int he transfer section or check out the ones from stahls.

Stahls'- Heat transfer presses, CAD-CUT materials, Roll Goods, vinyl cutters and more is a great company and im sure all their products are just as good. Have had no complaints form them over the years of using their products
