Default Postscript & RIP

We've been trying to utilize our Mutoh Eco Solvent printer (which is for signs, banners, stickers, etc.), to print our positives for screen printing, with no success

We're now looking to purchase a printer and I've read here that an Epson R1800 would be a good choice. My question is, if we get an Epson, what else do we need to consider? RIP right? Are there only certain RIP programs that work with the 1800? What about postscript? I don't know much about these things and was hoping for a little help. Would we have to have someone hook all this up to get it working properly, or can it just be loaded and tweeked a little? Does the R1800 come with postscript?

Any info you can lend would be great.

Thanks,

Default Re: Postscript & RIP

I would suggest doign a forums search for Epson and rip software as there have been a million discussions on this exact info your wanting.

For a package deal check out the Epson and FastRIP deals from U.S. Screen Print & Inkjet Technology.

I would suggest sticking to the cartridges rather than the bulk ink system as its a big mess. Also spend a little more and get the waterproof film and inks. Will save you headaches later down the road.

Epsons do not come with rip so you'll need one to print halftones correctly.
