Default screen mesh

what is a general rule of thumb for knowing what mesh size to get?
is there a mesh in between (kinda universal)?

110 (43T) is often considered a universal mesh for textile (and especially t-shirt) printing. Though some printers tend to think of 110 as more for underbase use. Ideally the mesh count should match the job and not be universal.

Default Re: screen mesh

86 - 110 - white ink, metallic inks and specialty inks
156 - 196 - all purpose inks (regular spot color printing)
230 - 355 - spot colors, simulated process, Index and 4-clr process prints

Using a 110 for all inks and color shirts will ultimately deposit an unnecessary amount of ink thus wasting ink and money. The prints will be heavy and "bullet proof"
