Does anyone own an "All-in-one" press. Im thinking about buying one. And/or looking for info on them.
Could you pass me some info? (Where to look/buy?)
Well, the short answer is they all suck..... kind of expensive...but, if space short and I had to make a choice, I would choose the lawson press over the "other" brands...
If I were to purchase an all-in-one machine (which I never would), it would be one that has rotating heads like Mark mentioned. Otherwise, there would be extremely low production rates.
I think they are all overpriced and the production just is not the same as a full size press.
i got a all-in-one unit off ebay for only $50 picked up and I've been reading nothing but bad things about them i haven't had a chance to use it yet because I've been busy learning how to reclaim 10yr old screens which thanks to this site and the people at mt.Pocono screen supply, has taught me alot about the reclaiming process. has anyone had a good experience with a all-in-one? and if so any tips on using on? mine is from a company called universal screen printing systems and is the instruction video that came with it is from 1994 i believe.
A old gentleman told me once if a tool does more than one thing,it won't do either one very well. That being said the waitime to chage things will add to your production time, you will have to wait for the pres to cool to change platens. T he third issue is the ones sold on Ebay are not very good quality and will not hold up. Do yourself a favor and buy name brand equipment. You will get what you pay for. .... JB
the one i bought is a older universal system and the guy had it in his garage for about 10 or 12 years and is about the same as the new one. so i figure just to learn to print is worth the 50 bucks and if i do like it and am good at it ill get a good press but even to get a single head press used would be more then 50 bucks and i probably wouldn't get any inks or screens. pretty much i got everything to figure out the whole process for less then 100 bucks
