I found an Epson R1800 on ebay for around $350 referbished from Epson with a 1 yr warrenty. Is this a postscript printer? will I be able to pick up Fastrip and out put halftones and be happy? Can I only use this fast positive water proff film with it? Thanks for any info

Get it and the RIP software. Check iproofsystems.com for a RIP

the r1800 and a rip will work just fine. I use fastpos and fastink from U.S. Screen Print and Inkjet Technology. We have the epson r1800 as a back up. Had to use it a couple of times and it worked great.

i have a lot of problems with mine. yesterday it worked great but today it acts like it is out of ink even though i just put a new cartridge in it. this has happened several times and holds up everything. it also wastes a lot of expensive film when it starts to act up.

I wouldn`t thank you for free one :-(
i bought mine a couple of years ago then bought with an cis ink system after changing 3 set of ink carts in as many weeks and that has leaked more than it has put on paper
it` has been nothing but trouble.
it is now sat on a shelf a complete white elephant as I had to modify the ink carriage to accomodate the cis.
on top of all that...it doesn`t print postscript without an expensive piece of software.
