Completely New: questions about exposure times and cleaning
I have a few questions if you would be so kind to help me out. First exposure. Pretty sure i have a 200Watt MH bulb that sit 3 feet above my burning area. I've been burning the image for about 2 mintues, but when it comes time to wash it off, some off the image peels off too. Should i burn it longer? Is it how i am washing it? First time i let warm water run down the screen until the image appeared. Second time i sprayed it with the kitchen sink faucet. Both times failed. Second, after run ink through a sreen how do i wash the ink off? i bought the chemicals to do it but it will not wash all the ink off. Do i let it sit in a tub with the chemical for awhile? Any advice would be great. Thank you

If your image or emulsion is washing off after the burn, you are most likely underexposing it, meaning expose longer and you should probably do a tests to see the proper timing and distance of the light source. Other possibilites could be that your emulsion is old, your emulsion was not mixed correctly, you're laying too thick of emulsion on the screen. You should spray out the image with cold water, not warm water. Cleaning, are you reclaiming or just cleaning to save for later?

I agree with the guys above re: exposure. If the emulsion is washing off its underexposed. If you get the emulsion to stay but your image will not wash out, then your transparencies aren't dark enough. Learnt that the hard way!
As for washing the screen off, i just use a standard shower head - cold water and not too much pressure.

I'm saving some and trying to reclaim others. Is it normal to see a tint of yellow in the water after washing your screen off right after the burn?
