Default lancer group equipment

Hello there,

First post for me. I've been doing amateur printing in my basement for a few years now on a home built four colour press. This summer I'll be going commercial and am looking into equipment options - the advice on this website has been very helpful.

At this point it seems like a Caps machine makes the most sense for me. I would like a 6 colour set up, but would start with 4 depending on how money issues turn out. The Lancer Group operates out of Winnipeg, where I live, and I haven't been able to find any advice about their products here. To save the 500+$ on shipping to Canada, would it be worth buying a press from them? I don't want to end up with a product I will regret having bought.

Thanks for any advice you can give,

paul

Hi Paul, welcome to the forums!

I haven't heard of Lancer, but possibly one of our experienced printers here might have info on that brand.

I don't know if this will help any, but they are half of the "discovery/lancer" group, lancer doing screen printing and discovery doing heat transfers and sports lettering etc.

They put out a line of inks called "excalibur" and offer a full line of supplies and equipment, no automatic stuff though.

If anyone wants to check out their website and products here, any advice is appreciated.

It's hard to find much info about lancer since they're based in Canada. It looks like they make a nice product though.

I've talked to a couple people in Canada that love their Excalibur line of inks. They are also pioneers in the PVC free inks.

Their inks are good. Their emulsion however ruined 8 screens I bought from them. They told me one of their versions of emulsion was turning out to be defective and hardened peoples screens. They refused to refund anything including even the emulsion. Even after that they told me to use another emulsion they carry but now the same thing is beginning to happen again!!

So thanks to their defective products I lost about $500 worth in products and ALOT of time.
