Default Looking for a Dryer

I'm looking into getting a dryer. I get most of my supplies from GSGI which is close to me (save on shipping), and they carry BBC, Kodiak and M&R. I know nothing about dryers, so I was wondering if anybody could give me any advice on these 3 brands. And also how do I determine what size I should get? I'm a small shop that probably only prints a couple jobs a week right now. And I don't have whole lot of space. I'll just have to make room for whatever I need. I would like get one for around $2K, but not sure if that's reasonable. Any advice would be appreciated.

Or should I look for a used dryer?

Rusty

For under $2000, I really like the looks of the Vastex DB-30. Hard to find a dryer with a 30" belt in this price reange.

I would suggest taking some time and watching all three parts of these videos that I linked here. There's some very good info

check out the classifieds section @ U.S. Screen Print and Inkjet Technology for used dryers.
I prefer M&R as all my equipment is Blue

Thanks for the input. Today, I picked me up a Hix dryer, 8 foot, at the Printwear show in Fort Worth. I'm excited to get it up and running. It's 220V so I have to get 220 to my garage somehow. Maybe I could just run a long extension cord from my kitchen stove

Good choice. I think the Hix dryers look pretty nice.

Hope it works out well for you!

As far as the 220 outlet, just call an electrician, or a friend with electrical knowledge. It shouldn't be too big of a deal to install one. You could even try hitting up the employees of larger electrical companies. They often times like to do small moonlighting jobs for beer money.

Here's a pic of the dryer I just bought. It's like an oven with a conveyor belt. After you print the shirts, you put them on the belt and send it through the oven. The ink has to cure at about 320 degrees for it to stick to the shirt.

So to answer your question, no you can use your regular dryer from home .

I wonder if anybody's ever tried to cook a pizza in their dryer???? I bet it would work.
